Learning from the Past: A primer on seminal cases and doctrines pertaining to animal law in its many manifestations -- including, but not limited to, veterinary malpractice, custody disputes, animal liens, Section 1983 claims, animal-on-animal injuries, person-on-animal injuries, public disclosure, taxpayer and Article III standing, citizen-suit provisions and private prosecution, administrative appeals (e.g., dangerous dog), and constitutional protections for animal guardianship.
